Information I Should Provide When I Call Assist Ambulance

  • The EMS dispatcher must know who and what equipment to send
  • If the heart has stopped beating they must know to send the proper personnel, equipment and drugs to restart the heart.
• What is the victims condition, conscious or unconscious
• Is the victim breathing, do they have a heart beat?
• How many victims?
• The number calling from
• The exact street address or nearest cross streets
• Caller’s name
• Help being given
• Do not hang up until dispatcher tells you to
• If another person calls, tell them to report back to you
• If the victims conditions or vitals change call Assist again and give update
